The Shankill Butchers

Using four black squares as my foundation, I am making a CD insert using the song of my choice. The four blank squares are to represent the following words; order, congested, increase, tension, bold and playful. The lyrics of the song, and it’s tempo are to dictate how the insert will flow; the tone, the mood and the colors are all important. I am using ink washes, metallic paint, canvas and tracing paper to develop this insert. I will then scan my work into the computer, and place on a board for presentation. This particular CD insert is unique because I am using a song that has truth to it. There actually were Shankill Butchers who murdered Catholics and Protestents in their sleep. For me, this is a step out of character. I do not usually make art that is considered creepy or scary, and for this project I have to step out of my comfort zone to bring this insert to life.

For some reason, I can't figure out how to rotate the images so they are facing the right way. In my file they are, but as soon as I upload them...
